It’s a shrew. No, a rat. No, it’s a bandicoot!
Another Australian resident is the
bandicoot
. They can hop like a rabbit, and use the paired claws of their back legs for grooming. They can be as small as a rat or as big as a rabbit.
Bandicoots are normally nocturnal.
